Man charged with taking money from Wind Creek Casino in Montgomery

A man has been jailed on federal charges in a theft of more than $190,000 from Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Montgomery last week, according to federal court records. Timothy Dean Pettiway was arrested and charged with theft from gaming establishments on Indian lands on Tuesday, federal court records show. Wind Creek is operated by the Poard Band of Creek Indians. The tribe operates three Wind Creek locations in Alabama including Montgomery, Atmore and Wetumpka. Read more here
A man who stole more than $190,000 from the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Montgomery, Alabama was sent to prison on federal charges. Timothy Dean Pettiway was seen tampering with one of the kiosk machines on the casino's surveillance video. He was later seen kneeling in front of the kiosk and was holding what looks like a money cassette. Casino personnel later found two cassettes in the handicap cubicle of the male restroom. The FBI is still investigating the case. Wind Creek Casino is operated by the tribe Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Aside from Montgomery, Wind Creek can also be found in Atmore and Wetumpka in Alabama.


The Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, AL

Hank Williams is a famous country singer regarded as a treasure in Montgomery, Alabama. In his honor, the 6000 sq. ft. Hank Williams Museum was built. Here, visitors can see the singer's 1952 Baby Blue Cadillac where he lost his life to heart failure. Also on display are his suits, hats, boots, ties, awards, furniture, portraits, records, and more. Hank Williams is one of America's first country music superstars who recorded 35 singles that reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart. 11 of those hit singles ranked number one. He died in 1953 at an early age of twenty-nine.
